Star Wars- Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Is Still Coming, Says Developer
The remake of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic hasn’t had a lot of public progress since it was announced in 2021. There were even rumors that the KOTOR reboot was no longer in development. But now that developer Saber Interactive has separated itself from Embracer Group, the company has secured a fresh round of investments that will allow it to continue to work on KOTOR and other projects.
Saber Interactive announced via a press release that private equity firms Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners have both made a “significant equity investment” in the company. The amount of the investment wasn’t mentioned, but the announcement did say that it will allow Saber Interactive to retire the debt that it owed Embracer Group after the buyout. It also leaves Saber Interactive with 13 different studios around the world. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Hokkaido Prefecture remaining reticent on integrated casino resort license race
In Japan and the mayor for the port city of Tomakomai has reportedly declared that he is ‘very disappointed’ with a decision from the government of Hokkaido Prefecture to continue eschewing the chance to secure an integrated casino resort license.
According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, Hirofumi Iwakura serves as the mayor for the community of some 174,000 people and made the statement following a Monday meeting with the Governor for Hokkaido Prefecture, Naomichi Suzuki (pictured). The source detailed that this gathering was held following a November of 2019 decision from the leaders of Japan’s northernmost prefecture that pulled the jurisdiction out of the race for the right to host one of the nation’s coming trio of Las Vegas-style developments.
Early expectations:
Tomakomai sits in a region that is already popular with skiers and holidaymakers and had reportedly hoped that this status would help it to win permission to build and run a gambling-fr…
Crown Sydney set to debut some non-gaming amenities from December 28
In Australia and local casino operator Crown Resorts Limited has reportedly been granted an interim liquor license that will allow it to commence some non-gaming services at its new Crown Sydney development from December 28.
According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the license from the New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority runs only until the end of April and covers the 350 hotel rooms within the five-star facility as well as all of its bars and some of its restaurants. However, the source detailed that the regulator has held off granting permission for a pair of eateries within the Sydney property to serve alcohol as it awaits the completion of an official inquiry being conducted by former New South Wales Supreme Court Judge Patricia Bergin.
Severe scuppering:
Sydney-listed Crown Resorts Limited had reportedly been planning to fully open the $1.6 billion development for the harborside Barangaroo district of Australia’s largest city from…
After years of avoiding Magic- The Gathering, the new Hatsune Miku set looks like the final nail in the coffin for me-
Last week, Magic: The Gathering announced a new Secret Lair collab with the famous virtual pop star Hatsune Miku in what will amount to a year-long print schedule with four Secret Lair drops, each releasing seasonally throughout 2024.
We’ve already had a sneak peek at the first six-card set, Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar, and honestly, every card is worth hunting for (via Polygon). My personal favourite is a toss-up between Miku, the Renowned by Yuko Shimizu, and Harmonize by Syutsuri, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at any of the other four cards on offer.
In true Miku fashion, plenty of other artists are chiming in and creating their own illustrations for this upcoming set. This includes designs from Justyna Dura, Jehan Choo, Mandy Jurgens, and Dani Pendergast.
I’ve always enjoyed collecting TCGs, starting off with Pokemon EX Delta Species and the Yu-Gi-Oh Gold Series when I was younger. While I’ve tried to keep my collections up to date, I prom…
Baldur’s Gate 3 designer totally gets it if you were overwhelmed by the shift to the game’s 3rd act, and don’t worry- it’ll be ‘less drastic’ in future games-
Can I make a confession? It took me about a month to get through the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3. Not because it was particularly challenging or—relative to the acts that preceded it—especially long, but because the second I arrived in Rivington I felt compelled to put the game down and go do something else for a while.
I guess I wasn’t alone in that feeling. In a recent chat with Gamereactor, Larian senior RPG designer Anna Guxens was asked about BG3’s third act, and specifically how she felt it could be improved either now or in future games from the studio.
“Act 2 specifically has a very strong closing moment that just shuts down a whole area [of the game],” said Guxens, which means that “starting off in act 3, especially if you have so many hours running in the rest of the game, can feel like a much different tone and very drastically changing.”
Sounds about right. BG3’s second act ends strong, with a dramatic climax and a…
This streamer’s Twitch chat can actively ruin his game by activating a modded headset that temporarily blinds him or setting off an IRL jumpscare
Scrolling through TikTok I came across one IrateFrenchFry—the capitalisation is important, they don’t rate french fries, though to be fair they’re not a french fry either. They’re a Twitch streamer of the same name with a degree in mechanical engineering. The reason I stopped on his channel was because I watched as he tried desperately to play Rainbow Six: Siege with a visor falling in front of his eyes, seemingly at random, and completely ruining his game.
@iratefrenchfry ♬ Sad violin ballad – Inumori
It’s not at random, though. It’s controlled by their Twitch chat—his seemingly maniacal Twitch chat. Every time IrateFrenchFry is trying to be a good teammate on the objective or in a tense stand-off with enemy players, down comes a …
